This training course will cover modules required for the safe operation of a chainsaw on the ground, including working safely, maintenance of the chainsaw and cutting system, operational chainsaw checks, legislation and industry good practice and cross-cutting timber with a chainsaw. You will also cover felling and processing trees up to 380mm, removing branches from felled trees and taking down hung up trees.
Level 3 Award in Felling & Processing Trees Over 380mm (CS32)
Unit 301 - Fell and Process Trees over 380mm
This unit covers trees whose effective diameter at felling height is over 380mm .This course will help you to understand and identify risk assessments and emergency procedures on the work site to promote knowledge of health and safety legislation and industry good practice. You will be able to fell trees and process over 380mm as well as removing branches on felled trees and dealing with taking down hung up trees.

Unit 206 - Access a Tree Using a Rope and Harness
Unit 306 - Carry out Aerial Rescue Operations
This training course will introduce candidates to the skills required for accessing a tree using a rope and harness, and being able to carry out aerial rescue operations. In addition, to identify relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice.
Level 3 Award in Aerial Cutting of Trees with a Chainsaw Using Free Fall Techniques (CS39)
Unit 308 - Carry out aerial cutting of trees with a chainsaw using free fall techniques
Having successfully achieved NPTC 201, 202, 203, 206, 306 this course will provide practical experience of aerial cutting of trees using free fall techniques as well as the relevant health and safety legislation and industry good practice.
